I used several clients over the past years.

Forget AZUREUS or any Java-based-client......they need too much of your RAM.

For downloading I still use an old version of BitSpirit
and
for uploading files I am using uTorrent(.com).

it surely does - besides the piracy , some of us make & upload torrents of our own making - it is quite amazing how active they
become...
Im happy with bittorent , it works , doesnt have fancy GUI like limewire , & doesnt affect my pc like azureus
