It certainly is viable. I see this and related styles of music as the off-spring or further development of Rock music. I am quite dismayed at the messages Hip Hop sends to the kids, I also cannot fail to notice, when bits of Joni Mitchell or Grace Slick are misappropriated by Hiphoppers, to fill what would otherwise be a void.
The Love Parade, in Berlin, a most remarkable event,... you have all the conditions necessary to make lab rats aggressive, loud,   more...hot, overcrowded, yet the spirit is peaceful and the mutual joy of life takes wing in the music.
